Description

The Home Affairs Select Committee has sent a stark warning to the Home Office that crime is going up while apprehension of criminals is going down and without urgent reform the police force face becoming ‘irrelevant’.

ATCM members across the country have complained about the challneges of keeping their town centres safe during an era where crime is evolving but a stretched police force cannot keep up.

ATCM Midlands will give members the opportunity to discuss policing, crime, anti-social behaviour and a number of other key issues that impact them. The agenda will include:

  • Update on Bromsgrove

  • Review of the ‘Policing for the Future’, the report by the Home Affairs Select Committee

  • A Partnership Approach to Tackling Violence and Vulnerability

  • Roundtable on safety and security

  • Christmas Round Robin

  • ATCM National Update: Brexit, Budget 2018, and the High Street 2030 Select Committee Inquiry

The Home Secretary Sajid Javid has been invited to this event. We will inform members if he is able to join us on the day.
